Residential & Development Projects

From Overgrown Lots to Building-Ready Sites

Whether you're building a home on raw land, reclaiming an overgrown property, or clearing for agricultural use, we handle land clearing projects from 1 to 10 acres. Every project includes a thorough review of what needs to go, what can stay, and how the land should be left after.

We separate timber that has value, set aside brush for burn piles where permitted, and haul debris off-site as needed. After clearing, we discuss rough grading options and any drainage concerns before we leave.

  • 1–10 acre residential and development clearing
  • Tree removal and stump grinding
  • Brush clearing and underbrush removal
  • Timber separation — salvageable wood set aside
  • Burn pile setup (where local regulations permit)
  • Debris hauling and disposal
  • Rough grading after clearing
  • Septic planning input — we've seen enough yards to help

How We Approach It

Organized. Efficient. No Hidden Surprises.

Before we start cutting, we walk the property with you to mark trees that are staying, identify utilities and setback lines, and discuss how debris will be handled. We don't want surprises halfway through a job — and neither do you.

We sequence the work logically — large trees first, then brush, then stumps, then debris cleanup and rough grading. By the end, you have a clear, usable piece of land ready for whatever comes next.

  • Pre-job walkthrough to mark keepers and utilities
  • Logical sequencing: trees → brush → stumps → debris → grading
  • Organized debris separation throughout the job
  • Discussion of post-clearing drainage and next steps
  • Rough grading available as part of the same project

Scope of Work

What We Handle

Tree Removal

Any size tree, cut to grade. We identify trees to keep and trees to remove, then work safely and efficiently through the site.

Stump Removal

Stump grinding to below grade so the cleared land is fully usable. No trip hazards, no regrowth, no eyesores.

Brush & Undergrowth

Vines, saplings, briars, and thick underbrush cleared with skid steer forestry attachments and manual cutting.

Debris Hauling

40-yard containers rotated as needed. We organize and separate materials before hauling so disposal is efficient.

Rough Grading

After clearing, we rough grade the site to establish drainage patterns and prepare for construction, fencing, seeding, or any next step.

Building Site Prep

Clear, grade, and prepare land for new construction. We advise on drainage, septic placement, and site layout based on what we see on the ground.

Questions

Land Clearing FAQ

Permit requirements vary by county and municipality. In general, small residential clearing (under an acre) typically doesn't require a permit in unincorporated county areas, but city limits often have stricter rules. Burn permits may also be required depending on season and location. We'll help you understand what's needed for your specific area before we start.

We separate timber that has salvage value and set it aside. Brush and debris we can pile for a burn (where permitted), chip on-site, or haul away in 40-yard containers. We discuss options with you before the job and handle whatever makes the most sense for your property and timeline.

We're not septic installers, but we've cleared enough land and worked alongside enough septic contractors to give you informed input. We can identify natural slopes, drainage directions, and soil conditions that typically affect septic placement decisions. When in doubt, we'll point you to the right professional for a percolation test.

Timeline depends on tree density, terrain, debris volume, and weather. A lightly wooded 1–2 acre lot might clear in 1–2 days. Heavy timber with many stumps and dense undergrowth on the same acreage could take 3–5 days. We give you a realistic timeline estimate during the walkthrough before work begins.
